Went puddle splashing after I got these, and my feet did not get wet. I will say that the gore-tex makes these somewhat uncomfortable for walking around for long periods of time, but I think that could be remedied by some cushioned hiking socks. I love them for walking around campus on rainy days, as my feet remain dry.
