For those not familiar with mid-market laser rangefinders, note that unlike those $400 binoculars the magnification ratio in this rangerfinder is fixed at 7X. You can't adjust it. Those rangefinders with adjustable magnification are much more expensive, such as this $800 Bushnell 10X42 Fusion 1600 Arc Black Bullseye Laser Rangefinder Binocular.
Note that you need a steady hand to be able to use a 7X magnification lens effectively. If you don't have a steady hand, get the 5X version, or get a tripod. A higher magnification ratio or a higher price is not always better.
For optical products such as cameras, lenses, range finders, etc, it is always a good idea to shop around. Even for the same merchant in amazon.com, price for the same optical product can change a lot within a short period of time. If you are not urgently needing it, it pays to be patient.
I found a much attractive offer for this product through Google Products. It is a good idea to search there first. And note that the Slop version is more expensive than the Tournament version; so pay attention to product descriptions.
The product comes with an orange color waist bag. Make sure you like the color. Some people don't like carrying an orange case, since it is unlikely that a hunter will hide in the bushes of a golf course and mistake you for a bear.
